Situtation: the beginning of the war (Tobias had no one), middle (he meets Ax, 'falls in love' with Rachel), ending (Rachel dies, Ax becomes the One).

The premise:
In a twisted alternate timeline, the Yeerk Empire succeeded in eliminating the Animorphs, thusly conquering Earth. Humanity was mercilessly subjugated, the Chee and the free Hork-Bajir enslaved, and the world razed. The Andalite High Command, having learned of the sickeningly dreadful situation, issued all of their forces to proceed immediately to Elicoor, the Andalite home world. This was the only obvious target that the Yeerks would attack now that they possessed immeasurable strength. As it was, they attacked the aforementioned world in multiple droves. At first, it looked as though the Andalites would prevail in repelling the invading vanguard of Yeerk frigates, but alas, they were eventually overwhelmed. Like Earth, Elicoor fell to the Yeerk Empire. Only a group of domeships carrying 6,000 Andalite refugees managed to escape. The rest of the population was ruthlessly accosted and enslaved. Thus began our galaxy’s darkest age. As many unsuspecting worlds were taken, the free Andalites eventually colonized an uninhabited planet at the farthest edge of the galaxy, Alios II. Knowing that this last bastion of freedom would be inevitably found, the aliens began to collaborate on the construction of sub-zero space engines. These engines are vastly more powerful and godly faster than the regular zero space engines. With this technology, they plan to abandon our doomed galaxy and go to Andromeda. It is now a bitter race against time…

Phrase/Situation: Tobias and Ax hang out during the night time. Not the Tobias is nocturnal or anything, but Ax can't sleep tonight, so Tobias tells him every human story he knows about the moon. Ax reciprocates.
